Archives 7/8-7/14 2005-2010

Posted by Olivia Mullens On July - 16 - 2011

Again I had to run out of town at the last minute and couldnt get the weekly archives post up but hopefully this will be the last time for awhile. We finally got our Las Cruces house on the market and even staged an open house. Only two couples showed up (we dont have a realtor) but both parties wanted to buy it and nobody quibbled with the price. We have our fingers crossed for an official offer soon.

As per nearly usual, here are the entries published this week on this site for the past six years. And as usual, you can find 2,000 more in the archives. I hope your weekend was lovely and equally productive.

3 Black Oxfords You’ll Yearn For In FW11

Posted by Lara Boismenu On July - 15 - 2011

When it comes to colder weather, nothing does day to day better than a black oxford.  They transition seamlessly from day to evening, can be subtle and glamarous at the same time, and due to their low heel are so easy to wear for long periods of time.

My three supreme favorites are the ones you wont be finding in the high street aisles; Miu Mius bedazzled heel, Alexander Wangs Jules and Christian Louboutins snakeskin Fred.  Of course the regular patent Fred is about half the price, but it far less fun than having exotic skin of snake as your kicks (none of that PETA shit in the comments, thanks)

I don’t usually like Givenchy clothing designs because they are too bold and daring for me. I’m a classic girl and my fashion taste is rather reserved. However, I can’t resist investing into Givenchy bags. Those are simply perfect and versatile. The Pre-Fall 2011 handbag collection has almost made me stop breathing. It’s flawless, real classic luxury.

Givenchy Pre-Fall 2011 bag collection isn’t only limited to classic office-style pieces. It also includes roomy bags, clutches and even luggage items. All of these are made of super-high quality materials which will serve for many years.

Christian Louboutin Creates Feet-Numbing 8-inch Stilettos

Posted by Olivia Propsting On July - 15 - 2011

Renowned shoes designer Christian Louboutin has created his most intriguing piece! Inspired by the ballet pointe shoe, Christian Louboutins 8-inch stilettos are a sight for sore eyes! But I think if you wear them, sore feet are what you will get!

Anyway, this pair of Louboutins is not designed for consumer consumption. Its been designed to be auctioned to raise money for the English National Ballet (ENB). You see, ENBs funding has been reduced by £2 million, so they need to raise funds in order to continue their projects.

As a ballet supporter, Christian Louboutin created the 8-inch stilettos to help out.

Cartier & Estée Lauder Debut New Scents

Posted by Lara Boismenu On July - 15 - 2011

Both Cartier and Estée Lauder are releasing sultry new scents this summer.  Perhaps not so surprisingly they have the same goal: to lure a man into a great smelling web, though ones quite determined about it and the other more subtle.

Cartier knows they have an advantage when it comes to selling fragrances. Luxury jewelers have the unique ability to redirect a man’s attention from diamonds for her to a scent for him. So theyve launched Baiser Vole (which translates into Stolen Kisses). The single-note scent, created by in-house perfumer Mathilde Laurent, is comprised of lilies because when Cartier polled a selection of men in France eight out of ten said it was the bloom they liked best.
