Mixing in Swimsuit Season

It’s bathing suit season. Whether we are ready to admit it or not. If you didn’t go all in for selection in January, then just plan on the mix + match for the time being.

As I told my nieces recently, teenagers are all about mixing tops with completely different bottoms. It makes for conversation, right? Think outside of the box … if you can’t find the perfect suit, that is. Nothing wrong with trying something new from time to time.

So, if you don’t have the killer suit (below), how about taking that top from years ago and buying new bottoms in a vibrant color this year? Read more…

Versatile Style: Nasty Gal Fringed Crochet Vest

Following hot off the trail of the 70s inspired flares from last week, Im still feeling like Stevie Nicks. My outfits lately have been hippie-boho chic and my giant mass of curls has been set free. I was assessing my closet and noticed that I do own quite a few pieces inspired by this hip decade: the flared jeans, maxi skirts, braided headbands (worn straight across the forehead of course!). However, Im missing one thing a crochet vest! Since this is such a trendy piece, I didnt want to break the bank with it and luckily Nasty Gal came to my rescue with their Fringed Crochet Vest.

A crochet or fringe vest was essential to every hippie girls wardrobe and can be such a versatile accessory piece!

Charlene Wittstocks Armani Wedding Gown

Charlene Wittstock looked angelic on her wedding day in a dazzling Giorgio Armani Privé wedding gown. Wittstock who got married to the Prince of Monaco, Prince Albert, in a religious ceremony that took place in the courtyard of the prince’s royal palace, wore an off-white silk Duchesse gown, with a long three-tiered train and long veil. What makes the dress dazzle and sparkle are the 40,000 Swarovski crystals, 2,000 mother of pearl drops, platinum coated thread and 30,000 ‘golden stones’ that embellish the silk and formed a very delicate floral design.

The neckline has an unusual front pleat that highlights Charlene’s wide swimmer shoulders.

Nike Patented The Back To The Future Self Lacing Sneaks.. HOW DID I MISS THIS?!

How did I miss this?!

Almost a year ago, Nike filed a patent for a self lacing sneaker that looks (at least from the artists rendering) pretty damn close to the style featured in the classic film, Back To The Future Part II.  If for some reason you havent exposed yourself to this 80s classic, check out this gif so you know what the hell Im talking about.
